Wildflower meadows studded with summer colour, cloud-wreathed alpine peaks that scrape the sky, glaciers that reflect the sun in millions of points of light... Here in Canada's Rocky Mountains, the play of light and shadow creates an ever-changing landscape that provides the ideal setting for courses on the art of outdoor photography.
Our outdoor photography courses are adventures in the finest traditions of art: the unparalled wilderness setting of the Monashee mountain range just west of Revelstoke, British Columbia, Canada; the exhilarating scenic helicopter rides that offer an eagle's eye perspective on the landscape; gourmet picnic lunches; expert instruction; and optional accommodation that features the excellent Coast Hillcrest Resort in historic Revelstoke.
Expect to use a minimum of one 36-exposure roll per day; most people average 60 exposures daily on our courses, given good shooting conditions. Heli Canada Adventures provides film and developing at cost for all participants on our photography courses. 35mm cameras are mandatory, and multiple lenses, a flash and tripod are recommended, along with a waterproof pen and notepad. You should be prepared for changing light, weather and exposure on our adventures.
