Course Overview

Day One:
Rock Climbing in BC CanadaAfter an exhilarating helicopter flight from Revelstoke, British Columbia, our rock climbing course starts high in the alpine with training in the basics - harnesses, ropes, helmets and rock shoes. You'll learn how to fit and wear each piece of equipment, then it's on to the ropes...condition and care, both on and off the rock, and the best ways to stack while climbing and coil afterwards.

The afternoon's agenda begins with movement-on-rock training, talking about and spotting where our feet and hands should be while rock climbing. Camp is a breeze to set up, and the gourmet food organized by our highly qualified guides is nutritious and plentiful, ensuring that our bodies are well fuelled for the rock climbing mountaineering still to come.

Day Two:
Rock Climbing in BC CanadaBreakfast and coffee starts the day's adventures, along with top-rope anchors, and yes, you can bring your coffee! We move into belay techniques, then into top roping, put it all together on belay, and then progress into lowering techniques. "Use your feet and legs, not your arms" becomes a familiar training refrain...

Rappelling leads the afternoon's climbing activities, allowing us to gain proficiency in this important rock climbing technique. Then it's top-roping heaven and climb, climb, climb...moving from bluff to bluff quickly and easily. Mountaineering has never felt so rewarding!

Day Three:
Rock Climbing in BC CanadaThe morning of this rock climbing day dawns with rock climbing rescue, essential training for aiding your partner, yourself or another group at the crags. We explore the rock climbing rack and individual pieces of equipment in their proper placements.

We spend the rest of the day top roping, using all the skills we've learned, before packing up camp and enjoying another spectacular helicopter ride. By five o'clock you're in the pub for pints, recounting stories of your rock climbing experience in beautiful British Columbia.
