Why are your prices higher than other heli-adventures I've looked at?
Like most anything else, our price is a direct reflection of the exclusivity and quality of service you receive. While other companies may be able to offer lower prices, it's generally because the group size is much larger than our groups. Simply put, with more people in a group, the per-person cost is lower. At Heli Canada Adventures, we focus on smaller, more exclusive adventures which makes the cost-per-person a little higher. The advantage for you is more flexibility during your adventure, and a more private excursion.

What time on the arrival date should I arrive at the Hillcrest Hotel?
If you can make it by 5:30 PM you will make the social. If you are coming later no problem, we will ensure dinner is waiting for you.

top

How do you make up the groups?
Usually you have done this for us by arriving as a group. If you are by yourself or a couple, we will put you into groups of similar abilities based on your input.

top

I am an experienced hiker, will I get challenged?
You bet! You will be in a group of similar abilities and you can hike as much as the group wishes and daylight hours allow.

top

There are only two of us or just myself, can we participate too?
Yes for sure, you can come and meet new friends and enjoy your selves. We will put you together with others of similar abilities to make up the group. Often friendships are started for years to come after your vacation.

top

Can our group golf in the morning and still hike?
Yes and this is your vacation. If you are on a mountaineering package, we will ask that you golf in the afternoon so that we can complete our objective for the day.

top

Can I bring my own gear?
Yes and we will check to make sure it is appropriate and up to the safety standards.

top

Can I wear light hiking boots on the backpacking trip?
Sorry you will be miserable. As our backpacking trip demands solid and stable foot wear we will not allow light hiking boots. Full shanks and stable ankle support is required. Waterproofing is also important to add to your enjoyment on this spectacular trip.

top

I am not a hiker, will I be able to enjoy myself?
Yes you will and this is part of the reason we use the helicopter. You will find that the terrain is suitable for the new hiker. You may go as far as you would like and you will be in a group with similar abilities. You will find lots to keep you outside for the day.

top

Can I rent a guide and a helicopter for my own private group?
Yes and please contact us for the rates for your dream vacation.

top

I am looking for a suitable family vacation that us parents will enjoy and so will the kids, have I found the perfect place?
You bet- families join us and we move through the mountain terrain at a pace all will enjoy. Our youngest client was four and oldest 84 years old.

top

Can I mix up the activities while I am with you?
Yes you can and all that is required is letting us know. You will be required to pay for an extra guide and the additional helicopter time. Some times it works out that you are only paying for the extra guide as we have the right numbers as not to add the extra flight.

top

My wife and I would like to bring our family and have the kids in a rock school while we are hiking, can this be accomplished?
It sure can. Contact us and we can arrange a guide to get the kids climbing while you are hiking.

top

I would like to do an avalanche course and bring my board, may I?
Yes you can. We suggest you use a split board for ease. Snow shoes are also acceptable.

top

What certification do I receive when taking your Recreational Avalanche courses?
You will receive a certificate from us providing that you have met the course requirements. This certificate will enable you to enroll in a Level 1 Avalanche Course or move onto the Advanced Courses. The certificates are also valid for other course providers to accept you into their next course if you so wish. The RAC certificates are not recognized for professional avalanche work.

What happens if it rains?
If it is still safe to fly we will go out with protective rain gear. The mountains offer that extra beauty shrouded in mist and cloud. If we can not fly , we load up into vans and head into Glacier and Mount Revelstoke National Parks for the day or until we can fly.

top

What happens if we can not fly for the day, do I get a refund?
Yes you certainly do. If we have not used the helicopter that day, you will be refunded your helicopter portion of the package minus the costs incurred to transport us to the National parks and acquire the correct permits in the parks. We will be outside in the national parks for that day and if we can fly latter on you can bet on it we will.
