The spectacular vistas of this backpacking adventure start with an exhilarating helicopter flight from historic Revelstoke, British Columbia, Canada, heading deep into Canada's Rockies. Millions of years ago, massive geological upheavals created these mountains, while glaciers continue to carve over the peaks, leaving behind icy waterfalls feeding crystal clear alpine tarns. This is nature at its most pristine: no trails, just unprepared terrain, expertly navigated by our highly qualified guides...a perfect backpacking adventure.

On Heli Canada Adventures' backpacking trip, you'll be hiking creek crossings and alpine grass slopes, flat glacier traverses and boulder fields, scree areas and wildflower meadows. You'll be backpacking amid high country flora and fauna - including caribou, bald eagles and mountain goats - practicing your low-impact skills as you're hiking. And our backpacking adventure always offers plenty of time to stop, capture your surroundings on film, and simply admire nature's profound beauty and power.

We'll be hiking approximately three miles daily, ascending (and descending) an average of 1500 feet. Hiking boots must be sturdy, with excellent ankle support, on this uneven terrain, and you should be comfortable carrying a pack weighing 20 to 25 pounds - enough for your sleeping gear, tent and clothes. Heli Canada Adventures caches food and spare clothing at the five campsites that we'll be hiking between on our backpacking adventure.

Camp life is one of our heli backpacking adventure highlights: rainbow trout await in nearby lakes, or you can try rock climbing, swimming, honing your photography skills...and stargazing in the brilliant wilderness night sky.
