For these backcountry adventures, ability is not an issue: even if you've never been powder ski touring before, you simply need a moderate fitness level, and to be comfortable with cross country and downhill skiing. In fact, Heli Canada Adventures' private day ski touring is the perfect opportunity for you to try powder ski touring for the first time. Ski touring lets you explore deep into the mountain backcountry, using normal downhill skis with a special binding that pivots at the toe of the boot and can lock down the heel. Sticky skiing skins let you climb with ease, while the heel lock makes downhill skiing a breeze.

We also welcome those who prefer powder snowboarding adventures to skiing, but we strongly suggest split boards, and good powder snowboarding skills if your companions are skiing.

You can expect to be skiing or snowboarding three to six miles, with an elevation change up to 4000 feet, but of course Heli Canada Adventures tailors the distance and adventures to your preferences.
