...Ski Touring Days and Starry Nights Traversing the Monashee Range!
Heli Canada Adventures bases our ski touring expedition adventures at three different camps, ensuring a full range of backcountry skiing terrain. And the expedition's camp life adds to the adventures: enjoying backcountry gourmet meals, sipping hot chocolate in the company of fellow ski touring enthusiasts and our highly qualified ski touring guides, watching the stars...and the slopes of tomorrow's skiing adventures!
This superb Heli Canada Adventures backcountry ski touring expedition is geared to the physically fit, experienced ski-mountaineer: you should be comfortable skiing blue runs. And with the ski touring expedition limited to 10 people, early booking is highly recommended. Day One's adventures on the Monashee Traverse ski touring expedition find you flying into the Bourne Glacier Camp (6150 feet) and ski touring to Pyrite Peak (8700 feet), then back to camp. Day Two's ski touring expedition adventures head to Feline Peak (9200 feet) before skiing back to Bourne Glacier Camp (6150 feet). Adventures on Day Three include ski touring and climbing a 2.5-mile ascent to Cat Peak (9600 feet), and skiing down to Big Eddie Camp (6500 feet). Day Four on the expedition features ski touring and climbing to Mount Levers (9100 feet), then it's the adventures of yo-yo skiing the north glacier (1000 feet) before returning to Big Eddie Camp (6500 feet). Day Five of the Monashee Traverse backcountry ski touring expedition features ski touring and climbing Schrund Peak (9600 feet), just over a three-mile ascent. Then it's almost three miles skiing down to Frisby Creek Camp (6000 feet). Day Six's adventures include ski touring to Bergitta Ridge (8500 feet) and yo-yo skiing the north glacier before returning to Frisby Creek Camp (6000 feet). Day Seven on Heli Canada Adventures' Monashee Traverse ski touring expedition means superb ski touring to Frisby Glacier Perry River Col (8000 feet), and skiing back down to camp for another eagle's-eye helicopter ride, back to Revelstoke. Heli Canada Adventures' exclusive Monashee Traverse ski touring expedition will leave you with memories that last a lifetime. We also offer a six-day Introduction to Powder Ski Touring course, plus Recreational Avalanche Awareness and Glacier Rescue courses for those interested in learning more about ski touring and the mountain backcountry. Our next Monashee ski traverse expedition will be April 22 to 29, 2006. Heli Canada Adventures can meet most custom needs, and can accommodate many dates.
